Wiping off the cobwebs

(I have been hiding.)

Dear internet, I am happy to say that I have been so busy and computerless in my AmeriCorps NCCC program that this blog has been neglected for several months.

There is no way I can sum up everything that has happened and all the things that I have been doing with the limited computer time that I have. I plan to write a reflection this week, but in this moment I wanted to simply share photos from my amazing Philly trip back home. I reunited with my two loves, Matthew and my bike. We attempted to brew beer, cooked amazing food, sporadically played Frisbee and simply had a great time.

Our third time making beef bourguignon together, and the wort on the right.

We had delicious Ethiopian food after receiving acupuncture in West Philadelphia.

Reunited and it feels so good!

This is where we watched 4th of July fireworks...the moon was quite remarkable that night. Some people canoed and kayaked out to watch...perhaps my next year's plan?!

Hot, sweaty bike rides with two of my favorite people!

I made Matt dinner one night...rice, tofu, chard (that we harvested ourselves), leek, and boiled down tomatoes.

Matt waiting impatiently for me to finish my beer so we could go out to eat!
One of my favorite things that we did together was volunteer at Greensgrow Farm in Kensington. We helped harvest swiss chard (which as seen in the photo, they kindly sent us home with a bunch!), added compost into the beds, and weeded other areas. It was a blast and I hope to work with them more while I am back in Philadelphia. If you are in the city and have the time, check it out.

I will be updating more on one of my days off next week, but for now I am off to draw!
