I hope those who are actually artisan bread makers don't laugh at my feeble attempts at making bread. Now that I am looking at these photographs, I realize that I have baked everything pictured in three days, and it felt like hard work (in a different way than I am used to...a lot of it was a result of my learning curve), yet many may bake three times the amount I did in a third of the time on a daily basis. I have truly come to respect bread making as an art after completing this independent study. It was a blast trying out so many different styles, making mistakes, and baking for three days straight (but I'll happily go back to being outside!). The loaf I am holding, though misshapen, was the very last loaf that I made and it is my pride and joy: a rosemary olive oil loaf topped with sesame seeds. Soooo tasty. Everything else was just okay, but now that I understand the basics, I hope to keep working at creating a better loaf!
